My 9 Favorite Baby Products

While one baby does not an expert make, I do get asked about what products I’m using with Baby Frida all the time, so I thought I’d share some of my favorites! We use all of these every day, with the exception of the DermaFrida, which if you have to use every day probably isn’t working!

  1. Skip Hop Activity Center I got this for Frida for Christmas and started using it right around four months, which is the minimum age for use. I spent a lot of time looking for non-plastic activity centers and they don’t really exist for under $500, I’m sorry to say! I thought this was one was the least garish and I heard lots of good things about it from friends. We keep ours in the kitchen for Frida to hang out in while we cook. The sheep is her favorite toy!

  2. Lovevery Play Kits I cannot say enough good things about these kits! We’ve gotten three so far (I purchased a year subscription up front) and they have all been spot on developmentally. Other than the activity center and play gym, we haven’t bought any other toys for Frida— the kits are enough! I really like them because they include items that Frida loves that I wouldn’t have thought to purchase on my own.

  3. Boppy Lounger When you get home with a newborn you suddenly realize you need a lot of places to put a baby! This one is compact compared to some others I’ve seen, and it’s easy to move around to different rooms. Keep in mind these are NOT safe for sleeping, but are for supervised awake time.

  4. NoseFrida SnotSucker This is one of those things you can’t imagine needing before you have a baby, and yet you find yourself using it every day. Babies can’t blow their noses, and when they have a stuffy nose it’s a. hard for them to feed and b. really freaky when they’re sleeping and you can’t tell if they can breathe. Don’t forget the nasal spray, you need to use that before you can effectively suck the snot!

  5. Lovevery Play Gym Frida spends most of her waking hours in her play gym! It’s really beautiful and Frida has gotten so much use out of all the parts! It also comes with a guide explaining how to use it at different ages, which is super helpful!

  6. Cribsheet by Emily Oster I am constantly recommending this book. There is so, so much information and advice out there about how to raise your baby. Written by an economist, Cribsheet concisely explains the actual data on common parenting choices so you can make a well-informed decision without getting overwhelmed.

  7. Fleece Booties Baby socks do not stay on, period. These do! Frida wears these every day.

  8. Comotomo Bottles I switched from breastfeeding to formula around seven weeks, which has been a really great decision for our family. One thing that was not so great was leaking bottles and bottle nipples that indent constantly. We’ve tried a bunch of brands and Comotomo are by far the best! No leaking, no indenting!

  9. DermaFrida The Flake Fixer Yes, I do like buying products from this brand because they have Frida in the name, but they’re also really good! I didn’t think Frida had bad cradle cap, but this 3-step system got A LOT of stuff off her head. And I’ve only had to use it twice in six months!

If you try any of these, I hope you and your baby love them as much as we do!
